networking kabel shiverpeaks BASIC-S 0,25 m Cat7 S/FTP

The ShiverPeaks BASIC-S 0.25 m Cat7 S/FTP networking cable is a short patch cable designed for reliable high-speed connections in compact setups. The cable supports Cat7 performance with individually shielded pairs and an overall foil shield (S/FTP), and is fitted with gold-plated RJ-45 connectors to maintain consistent signal contact. Its 0.25 metre length and bright yellow jacket make it suitable for tidy cable runs between closely located devices or patch panels where minimal cable slack is required.

Advantages

The S/FTP construction reduces crosstalk between pairs and provides improved protection from external electromagnetic interference, preserving signal integrity for Gigabit and higher-speed networks. Gold-plated contacts on the RJ-45 plugs improve corrosion resistance and help maintain low contact resistance over time. The short 0.25 m length minimizes latency and clutter in server racks, switch-to-switch links or crowded workstation areas while the flexible jacket simplifies routing in tight spaces.

Suitable for

• Short patch connections between switches, patch panels and servers
• High-density rack environments where cable management is critical
• Workstation or media equipment connections located close together
• Environments requiring reduced electromagnetic interference for stable data transfer

Key specifications

• Category: Cat7 performance
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall foil shield with individually shielded pairs)
• Length: 0.25 m (25 cm)
• Connectors: RJ-45 with gold-plated contacts
• Cable colour: yellow
• Conductor configuration: twisted pairs

How to use

Connect one RJ-45 plug to the Ethernet port of your device and the other plug to the corresponding port on a switch, router or patch panel. Ensure connectors are fully inserted until they click to secure the connection. Use the short cable for direct links where devices are within close proximity to avoid excess looping; avoid sharp bends at the connector ends and route the cable through cable management panels if available to maintain neat installation and strain relief.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use this Cat7 S/FTP cable in shielded or grounded network installations to maximize EMI protection. Avoid running the cable parallel to high-voltage power lines and maintain gentle bend radii to preserve the integrity of the twisted pairs and shielding.
