Northwave Kingrock Plus GTX winter-MTB-schoenen - zwart, SPD, Gore-Tex, maat 42

Where many winter shoes rely on bulky overlays, the Northwave Kingrock Plus GTX answers with a rare blend of waterproof protection, serious insulation, and efficient power transfer. The Gore-Tex Koala membrane is bonded directly into the Explorer upper, keeping water out without sacrificing breathability or flexibility. The Jaws Carbon Reinforced sole with an 8.0 stiffness index delivers near-race-level pedalling efficiency, while the SLW3 dial and extra strap lock the foot in place for technical terrain. This is a shoe built for riders who won't let freezing temperatures or wet trails end their season.

Highlights

• Gore-Tex Koala waterproof membrane keeps feet dry in rain, mud, and snow
• Arctic 4Layer footbed combines EVA, aluminium, and pile for warmth down to -10°C
• Jaws Carbon Reinforced sole with stiffness index 8.0 for efficient power transfer
• SLW3 dial closure with additional strap for a secure, micro-adjustable fit
• 360° reflective inserts enhance visibility in low-light winter conditions
• Reinforced toe and integrated heel system for durability and stability
• SPD (2-bolt) cleat compatibility for mountain bike pedals

In daily use

On frosty morning commutes or slushy trail rides, the Kingrock Plus GTX performs without drama. The Gore-Tex Koala membrane shrugs off puddle splashes and light snow, while the Arctic 4Layer footbed traps heat and reflects it back, so toes stay warm even when the mercury dips. The SLW3 dial allows micro-adjustments on the fly, and the extra strap secures the foot for confident descending. Reflective inserts keep you visible when daylight fades.
