Optische actieve kabel BlueOptics SFP-10G-AOC-30M 10GBASE-SR 30 m

The Optical active cable BlueOptics SFP-10G-AOC-30M 10GBASE-SR 30 m is a factory-terminated SFP+ active optical cable designed to establish 10 Gb/s connections between SFP+ ports over a 30-metre distance. The cable integrates optical transceivers within the connector housings, eliminating the need for separate pluggable transceivers and simplifying short-range interconnects in rack and data centre environments. It supports 10GBASE-SR signalling for multimode fibre links and is intended for direct device-to-device links such as server-to-switch and switch-to-switch connections.

Advantages

This active optical cable reduces cabling complexity by combining fibre and transceiver functions in a single pre-terminated assembly, which lowers installation time and the risk of connector misalignment. The integrated design provides low latency and predictable signal performance across the supported 30 m reach. As a factory-tested product, it avoids field termination and maintains consistent optical alignment for reliable short-range 10 Gb/s links in dense network environments.

How to use

Install the cable by inserting each SFP+ connector into the corresponding SFP+ port on the devices to be connected. Ensure that devices are powered down or have hot-plug capability according to the equipment manufacturer’s guidance. Route the cable within the rack or containment system to avoid sharp bends and mechanical strain, keeping the bend radius within manufacturer-recommended limits for optical assemblies. After insertion, verify link status and data throughput using the host devices’ network management tools.

Recommendations

Use this 30 m SFP+ AOC for short-range multimode fibre links inside data centres and equipment rooms. Avoid tight bends, excessive pulling force, and exposure to liquids or abrasive environments. Confirm compatibility with device SFP+ ports and ensure firmware or driver support for active optical cables if required by the equipment vendor.
