Optische rookmelder Hekatron HEK ORS 142 met lijnbewaking

The Hekatron HEK ORS 142 with line monitoring is an optical (photoelectric) smoke detector designed for wired fire alarm systems in residential and commercial settings. It detects visible combustion particles using a photoelectric sensing chamber while simultaneously supervising the detector circuit for line faults. The unit supports early smoke detection and offers integrated line monitoring to help identify wiring interruptions or short circuits without requiring additional external modules.

Advantages

The optical sensing technology provides reliable detection of smoldering fires and slow-developing smoke events. Integrated line monitoring reduces installation complexity by supervising the detector line and reporting faults directly to the fire alarm control panel. The detector's compact design and standardized base enable straightforward replacement and integration into existing wired systems. Built for compatibility with common control panels, it simplifies system diagnostics and maintenance.

Suitable for

• Wired residential smoke detection networks
• Commercial premises such as offices, corridors and utility rooms
• Multi-detector circuits requiring line fault supervision
• Renovation projects replacing or upgrading conventional detectors

Key specifications

• Detection principle: photoelectric (optical) smoke sensing
• Integrated function: detector line monitoring for fault detection
• Intended connection: wired fire alarm systems (detector loop/circuit)
• Form factor: compact ceiling-mount detector compatible with standard bases
• Operating environment: indoor use in living and working spaces

How to use

Install the detector on a suitable ceiling or mounting base following the wiring diagram of the fire alarm control panel and local electrical codes. Ensure the integrated line monitoring feature is configured or enabled according to the control panel documentation so that line faults are reported correctly. Position detectors according to recommendations for spacing and placement to achieve full coverage of the protected area. Perform initial functional tests and verify communication with the control panel after power-up and commissioning.

Recommendations

Perform regular maintenance including visual inspection and periodic functional tests according to national standards and the fire alarm system manual. Clean the detector exterior with a dry, soft cloth and avoid using liquids or solvents. Replace detectors that show persistent fault indications or fail sensitivity checks; document all maintenance and test results in the system log.
