Optische Toslink-koppelaar ShiverPeaks 69120 — vezelverbinder voor digitale audioverbindingen

The Optical Toslink Coupler ShiverPeaks 69120 is a passive fiber joiner designed to link two Toslink (optical) digital audio cables. It provides a straightforward inline connection for extending or repairing optical S/PDIF audio runs without converting the signal. The compact cylindrical body supports standard square optical plugs and is intended for use in home audio systems, televisions, soundbars and professional audio equipment where an uninterrupted optical connection is required.

Advantages

This Toslink coupler offers a low-profile, tool-free solution for joining optical cables while maintaining the optical signal path. Its simple mechanical design minimises insertion loss and preserves signal integrity for stereo and multichannel S/PDIF formats. The coupler’s compact dimensions make it unobtrusive when installed between short cable runs or behind AV equipment, and its standardized optical interfaces ensure compatibility with most consumer and prosumer Toslink cables.

Suitable for

• Extending a Toslink optical audio cable run
• Repairing a damaged or shortened optical cable without reterminating connectors
• Connecting TVs, soundbars, CD/DVD/Blu-ray players and DACs using optical S/PDIF
• Temporary or permanent joins in home theatre and small studio setups

Key specifications

• Connector type: Toslink (optical square plug) female–female
• Function: passive optical coupler for digital audio
• Compatibility: standard optical S/PDIF signals including stereo and multichannel formats
• Form factor: compact inline cylindrical adapter for easy placement behind equipment
• Material: durable plastic housing with optical alignment sleeve

How to use

To use the coupler, align the square Toslink plug of one optical cable with one end of the adapter and push gently until it clicks into place. Repeat with the second optical cable on the opposite end. Ensure both cable ends are clean and free of dust or debris before connection to reduce insertion loss. Once connected, verify audio transmission by playing a digital source and confirming output on the receiving device. Disconnect by gently pulling the connector straight out to avoid bending the fiber end.

Recommendations

Protect fiber ends from dust and direct sunlight when not in use by capping or storing cables properly. Avoid tight bends or tension on joined cables — maintain gentle curves with a bend radius appropriate for optical fiber to prevent signal degradation or physical damage.
