OWC Archive Pro LTO-8 Thunderbolt 3 tapestreamer - 12 TB native / 30 TB gecomprimeerd

The OWC Archive Pro redefines long-term data archiving by pairing LTO-8 tape technology with a dual Thunderbolt 3 interface—a combination rarely found in desktop tape drives. Unlike conventional USB-only LTO units, this drive delivers sustained transfer speeds up to 360 MB/s native and 900 MB/s compressed, making it ideal for media professionals, IT administrators, and anyone who needs to safeguard massive datasets with hardware encryption and WORM support.

Highlights

• LTO Ultrium 8 technology: 12 TB native capacity per cartridge, up to 30 TB compressed
• Dual Thunderbolt 3 ports for daisy-chaining and maximum throughput
• Hardware AES 256-bit encryption and WORM (Write Once, Read Many) support
• Backward read/write compatible with LTO-7 and LTO-7 Type M media
• Half-height form factor with robust aluminum enclosure and internal cooling fan
• Additional connectivity: DisplayPort 1.2, USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A and Type-C ports

In daily use

The Archive Pro sits comfortably on a desk or in a rack shelf, connecting to your Mac or PC via Thunderbolt 3. The external AC adapter ensures stable power delivery, while the internal fan keeps the drive cool during long backup sessions. With a 1 GB buffer, the drive maintains consistent performance even when handling large files. The bundled ports turn the Archive Pro into a mini docking station, allowing you to connect a monitor or other peripherals without sacrificing a Thunderbolt port on your computer.
