Patchkabel ShiverPeaks Helos F/FTP Cat 8.1 5,0 m — Twisted-Pair, dubbel afgeschermd

ShiverPeaks Helos F/FTP Cat 8.1 patch cable, 5.0 m, is a twisted-pair network cable with double shielding designed for high-frequency data transmission. The cable uses individually foil-shielded pairs plus an overall braid/foil shield to reduce electromagnetic interference and maintain signal integrity over short to medium link lengths. It is intended for high-speed LAN connections, server racks, data centers and professional networking setups requiring Cat 8.1 performance.

Advantages

The double-shielded F/FTP construction provides enhanced protection against crosstalk and external electromagnetic interference compared with unshielded or single-shielded cables. The fully copper conductors and gold-plated connector contacts support reliable conductivity and corrosion resistance. A low-smoke, halogen-free outer jacket improves safety in enclosed spaces and aligns with common installation requirements for professional environments.

Suitable for

• High-speed LAN connections and 25Gbase-T or 40Gbase-T links over short distances
• Patching in server racks and data center horizontal or top-of-rack links
• Professional network installations where reduced EMI and shielding are required
• Connections between switches, routers and network appliances in enterprise environments

Key specifications

• Category: Cat 8.1 (F/FTP)
• Length: 5.0 m
• Conductor: solid/stranded full copper (AWG 26 per conductor indicated by manufacturer materials)
• Shielding: foil around each twisted pair plus overall braid/foil
• Connector contacts: gold-plated contacts for improved contact reliability
• Jacket: low-smoke, halogen-free (LSZH)
• Wiring: 1:1 pinout according to EIA/TIA 568B

How to use

Connect one RJ45 end of the ShiverPeaks Helos Cat 8.1 patch cable to the network port of your switch, router or server and the other end to the destination device or patch panel. Ensure both connected devices support the intended link speed and that ports and patch panels are properly grounded where required. Route the cable without sharp bends or excessive compression and avoid running it parallel to high-voltage lines to maintain shielding effectiveness.

Recommendations

For best performance, use this Cat 8.1 patch cable for short, high-speed copper links within racks or between adjacent racks. Verify device compatibility for 25G/40Gbase-T operation and maintain proper grounding of shielded components in the network to ensure EMC benefits.
