Philips Hue White Ambience MR16 slimme lichtspot, GU53, 5,1 W, Bluetooth/Zigbee

The Philips Hue White ambience MR16 with GU53 fitting is a compact smart lighting spot that provides adjustable white light for home interiors. With 5.1 W power and dual Bluetooth/Zigbee connectivity, this MR16 lamp is compatible with Android and iOS devices and can operate as a standalone Bluetooth light or be integrated into a Philips Hue bridge and wider smart home system. It is designed for accent, task or ambient lighting and supports remote control, scheduling and scene-based adjustments when connected to a Hue ecosystem.

Advantages

This smart spot delivers tunable white light from warm to cool tones to match different activities and times of day. The GU53 fitting makes it suitable for many recessed fixtures and track systems that accept MR16-style lamps. Bluetooth allows quick setup and local control without additional hardware, while Zigbee compatibility enables stable mesh networking and integration with a Hue Bridge for extended features such as voice control, routines and multi-room synchronization. Low power consumption at 5.1 W provides energy-efficient illumination compared with equivalent halogen MR16 lamps.

Suitable for

• Accent lighting for artwork, shelves or architectural details
• Task lighting over desks, counters or worktops
• Ambient lighting in living rooms, bedrooms or corridors
• Integration into smart home scenes and automated schedules

How to use

Install the MR16 GU53 lamp into a compatible fixture following the fixture manufacturer's instructions and ensure power is switched off during installation. For immediate control, pair the bulb with a smartphone via the Philips Hue Bluetooth app on Android or iOS and follow the in-app setup to assign the lamp to a room and adjust white tones and brightness. For advanced control, add the lamp to a Philips Hue Bridge using the Hue app to enable routines, remote access, voice assistants and multi-device scenes.

Recommendations

Use this Philips Hue White ambience MR16 in fixtures designed for GU53/MR16 lamps and avoid enclosed fittings that restrict heat dissipation unless the fixture manufacturer states compatibility. For consistent colour temperature across multiple spots, set the same white tone and brightness in the app; if integrating into a Hue Bridge, place the bridge centrally to maintain Zigbee mesh stability.
