Poortblokkering ShiverPeaks 08-01035 RJ-45 oranje veiligheidssleutel

The ShiverPeaks Port blocker 08-01035 RJ-45 Orange Security Key is a physical network port blocker designed to prevent unauthorized access to Ethernet ports. The device fits standard RJ-45 sockets and is supplied in a bright orange finish to allow quick visual identification of secured ports. It includes a dedicated security key that locks the blocker in place, helping organisations manage physical network access control in offices, data centres and public areas.

Advantages

The port blocker provides a simple, non-electronic means of securing RJ-45 network ports without altering cabling or switches. Its bright orange colour makes secured ports easily visible to administrators and staff, supporting fast audits and reduced accidental use. The included security key prevents removal by unauthorised personnel and enables controlled access management. The design is compact and reversible for straightforward installation and minimal footprint within patch panels or wall outlets.

Suitable for

• Preventing unauthorised connection to wall-mounted RJ-45 ports in offices
• Securing spare ports in data centres and server rooms
• Controlling physical network access in public or shared spaces
• Use during security audits, temporary lockdowns or change of personnel

Key specifications

• Compatibility: standard RJ-45 Ethernet ports
• Material: durable plastic construction suitable for regular use
• Colour: bright orange for high visibility
• Locking mechanism: supplied security key to lock/unlock the blocker
• Form factor: low-profile design for use in patch panels and wall outlets

How to use

Insert the port blocker into the RJ-45 socket until it sits flush with the connector housing, then turn or engage the locking feature using the supplied security key according to the manufacturer’s alignment marks. To restore port access, insert the key and rotate or actuate the lock to release the blocker and remove it from the socket. The blocker does not require power or software and can be deployed rapidly to secure single ports or multiple sockets on patch panels and outlets.

Recommendations

For effective access control, label blocked ports and keep the security key in a secure, auditable location. Regularly inspect blockers for signs of wear and ensure compatibility with the specific outlet and patch panel designs used in your infrastructure before large-scale deployment.
