Printserver Lexmark MarkNet N8370 WLAN zwart

The Lexmark MarkNet N8370 is a wireless print server that adds 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac connectivity to compatible Lexmark devices. It supports dual-band Wi‑Fi for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks and can operate via existing network infrastructure or using Wi‑Fi Direct for direct mobile printing from smartphones and tablets.

Advantages

The MarkNet N8370 provides easy installation through an internal solutions port or via a card-mounting pod or USB-connected wireless module on supported models. It offers management security with SNMPv3 for encrypted and authenticated management traffic and supports IPsec for network-layer encryption and authentication on IPv4 and IPv6 networks. Wireless encryption options include WEP (64/128-bit), WPA2 Personal and WPA2 Enterprise. An embedded web interface enables firmware updates and remote configuration.

Suitable for

• Offices needing wireless access to Lexmark printers over 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz networks
• Environments that require secure network management and encrypted communications
• Mobile users who need direct printing from Android or iOS devices via Wi‑Fi Direct

Key specifications

• Wireless standards: IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac
• Dual-band support: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz
• Security protocols: WEP (64/128-bit), WPA2 Personal, WPA2 Enterprise, IPsec
• Management: SNMPv3, embedded web interface for configuration and firmware updates
• Network compatibility: IPv4 and IPv6, TCP/IP
• Installation options: internal solutions port, card-mounting pod, or USB-connected wireless module (model dependent)

How to use

Install the MarkNet N8370 by sliding the wireless card into the printer’s internal solutions port where supported, or mount the card in a standard pod or connect a wireless module to the printer’s USB port on models that require that method. Configure network settings and security via the device’s embedded web interface or through your network management tools, enabling SNMPv3 and IPsec as needed. For mobile printing, enable Wi‑Fi Direct on the print server and connect the smartphone or tablet to the printer’s Wi‑Fi Direct network to send print jobs without joining the corporate network.

Recommendations

Enable WPA2 Enterprise where available for strongest wireless access control in business environments, keep firmware updated via the embedded web interface, and choose the 5 GHz band for higher throughput when range requirements allow.
