How to use

Install the APC EPDU2016S into a free 1U space in a 19-inch rack using the supplied mounting hardware or appropriate rack brackets. Connect the unit’s input plug to a compatible 230V, 16A mains source or a UPS output rated for the same voltage and current. Plug servers, switches and other IEC C13-equipped devices into the eight outlets, ensuring the total load does not exceed the unit’s 16A capacity. Route and secure power cords to maintain airflow and avoid cable strain. Periodically inspect connections for tightness and signs of wear.

Recommendations

Place the PDU on a rack shelf level that allows easy access to outlets for maintenance; avoid overloading by calculating cumulative device current draw and leave margin for peak loads. Use the PDU with properly rated upstream protection and a grounded supply. For installations in high-availability environments, distribute critical loads across separate PDUs or UPS circuits to reduce single-point failures.
