RJ45 Cat.8.1 netwerkstekker ShiverPeaks BS08-45001-2 metaal veldconfigureerbaar

The ShiverPeaks RJ45 Cat.8.1 Network Connector BS08-45001-2 is a field-configurable metal-housed connector designed for Category 8.1 shielded twisted-pair Ethernet cabling. Engineered for high-speed links in data centers, server rooms and other high-bandwidth environments, the connector provides a robust metal shell for improved grounding and electromagnetic interference (EMI) protection while allowing on-site termination and customization to cabling layouts.

Advantages

The metal housing ensures solid mechanical protection and enhances shielding continuity when mated with compatible outlets and cables. Field-configurable design enables termination on-site, reducing the need for pre-terminated assemblies and enabling flexible deployment. The connector is designed to meet the electrical and mechanical requirements of Category 8.1 installations, supporting high-frequency performance and reliable signal integrity in shielded twisted-pair systems.

Suitable for

• High-speed Ethernet links in data centers and server rooms
• Shielded twisted-pair (STP) Category 8.1 cabling installations
• On-site terminations where custom cable lengths or field assembly are required
• Applications requiring enhanced grounding and EMI protection

Key specifications

• Connector type: RJ45 field-configurable
• Category: Cat.8.1 compatible for shielded twisted-pair cabling
• Housing material: metal shell for improved shielding and grounding
• Use: designed for on-site termination and field assembly
• Recommended environment: data center and high-bandwidth network endpoints

How to use

Terminate the connector following the Cat.8.1 wiring scheme and the cable manufacturer’s instructions for shielded twisted-pair cables. Prepare the cable by stripping the jacket and drain wire as required, then position conductors according to the connector’s termination layout. Secure the shielding continuity between cable braid and connector shell to maintain proper grounding and EMI protection. Tighten any fastening elements and verify mechanical integrity before installing the connector into patch panels, outlet housings, or enclosures.

Recommendations

Verify compatibility with the chosen Category 8.1 STP cable and with downstream equipment. Use appropriate tools for shielded cable termination and confirm continuity of the shield and pairs with a network tester that supports Cat.8 frequency ranges after installation.
