Salewa Puez PTX Trekking-gamaschen Black Out Maat M

When trails turn sloppy and scree fields threaten to fill your boots, the Salewa Puez PTX Trekking Gaiter steps in as a featherweight shield. Unlike bulkier gaiters that trap heat and restrict movement, this Powertex 2.5L model wraps your lower legs in a waterproof, breathable membrane with a 10,000 mm water column and 10,000 g/m²/24h breathability rating—keeping you dry from both rain and sweat. The ergonomic, close-fitting cut eliminates flapping fabric, while the full-length Velcro closure and Hypalon underfoot strap lock everything in place. At just 170 g per pair, these gaiters are so light you’ll forget they’re on until the first puddle splashes harmlessly off.

Highlights

• Powertex 2.5L laminate: waterproof (10,000 mm) and breathable (10,000 g/m²/24h)
• PFC-free DWR finish repels water without harming the environment
• Abrasion-resistant 100% polyester face fabric shrugs off rocks and brush
• Taped seams prevent leaks at every stitch
• Full-length Velcro front closure for easy on/off and a snug fit
• Hypalon underfoot strap is tough, flexible, and stays put
• Front lace hook anchors the gaiter to your boot for secure coverage
• Weighs only 170 g per pair—barely noticeable in your pack

In daily use

Slip the Puez PTX over your trekking boots, press the Velcro shut, and hook the front loop onto your laces. The close-fitting design moves with your ankle, so you can scramble over boulders or post-hole through snow without the gaiter riding up. Mud, stones, and debris bounce off the tough polyester face, while the breathable membrane prevents clammy buildup on long ascents. The Hypalon strap resists abrasion from rocks and crampons, and the taped seams keep moisture out even when wading through wet brush. When the weather clears, they pack down small enough to stash in a side pocket.
