Netwerkkabel S/CONN 08-40051 blauw 5 m Cat8 S/FTP

The ShiverPeaks Networking Cable S/CONN 08-40051 Blue 5m Cat8 S/FTP is a high-performance Ethernet cable designed for demanding network environments. This 5-meter Cat8 cable uses S/FTP (shielded foiled twisted pair) construction to reduce electromagnetic interference and support high-speed data transmission. It features RJ-45 connectors with gold plating for reliable contact and improved corrosion resistance, and the blue jacket provides clear visual identification in structured cabling installations.

Advantages

S/FTP shielding offers enhanced protection against crosstalk and external interference, which helps maintain signal integrity in crowded or electrically noisy environments. The Cat8 specification enables support for higher bandwidths and faster data rates compared to earlier categories, making the cable suitable for modern networking needs. Gold-plated RJ-45 contacts improve long-term connectivity by resisting oxidation, while the 5 m length provides flexibility for linking devices across workstations, racks, or home network setups.

Suitable for

• High-speed LAN connections in home or small office networks
• Connections between network switches, routers and servers within racks
• Applications that require reduced electromagnetic interference, such as near power equipment
• Temporary or permanent cabling where a 5 m reach is appropriate

Key specifications

• Category: Cat8
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall braid with foil on individual pairs)
• Connector type: RJ-45 with gold-plated contacts
• Length: 5 m
• Cable color: Blue
• Application: Ethernet data transmission for high-bandwidth networks

How to use

Connect the gold-plated RJ-45 plugs to the corresponding Ethernet ports on your devices, ensuring each connector clicks into place to secure the connection. Route the cable to avoid tight bends and avoid running it parallel to power cables for extended distances to minimize potential interference. For rack installations, use cable management accessories to maintain airflow and reduce mechanical stress on the connectors. Verify link status and network speeds on connected devices after installation to confirm proper operation.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use this Cat8 S/FTP cable in conjunction with compatible high-speed network equipment that supports Cat8 or multi-gigabit Ethernet. Avoid sharp bends and excessive pulling force during installation, and keep the cable away from strong sources of electromagnetic noise. Periodically inspect connectors for dirt or damage and clean contacts with appropriate electronics-safe methods if needed.
