Netwerkkabel S/CONN Cat. 7 S/FTP 5 m

The ShiverPeaks Networking Cable S/CONN Cat. 7 S/FTP 5 m is a shielded Ethernet cable designed for high-speed wired networks. This blue Cat 7 cable uses S/FTP shielding to minimise electromagnetic interference and crosstalk, and it is fitted with RJ-45 connectors plated in gold to maintain stable electrical contact. With a 5 metre length, the cable suits typical home and small-office layouts where performance and signal integrity are important.

Advantages

The S/CONN Cat. 7 S/FTP 5 m cable provides improved noise rejection thanks to its overall shield combined with individually shielded pairs, which helps maintain signal quality in environments with multiple electrical devices. Gold-plated RJ-45 connectors reduce oxidation and ensure consistent contact resistance for reliable data transfer. The Category 7 design supports higher frequency transmission and is backward compatible with earlier Ethernet standards, enabling flexible deployment in mixed network infrastructures.

Suitable for

• Wired home networks requiring stable gigabit or multi-gigabit connections
• Small office networks with multiple electronic devices and potential interference
• Connecting routers, switches, NAS units, desktop PCs and gaming consoles
• Short to medium cable runs where a fixed 5 m length fits layout requirements

Key specifications

• Cable category: Cat. 7
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall braid plus foil-wrapped pairs)
• Connector type: RJ-45 with gold plating
• Length: 5 metres
• Colour: Blue

How to use

Connect one RJ-45 plug to your network device (router, switch or modem) and the other to the target device (computer, NAS, console). Ensure connectors are fully inserted until the latch clicks to establish a secure mechanical and electrical connection. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and keep it clear of power cables where possible to reduce interference. For wall-mounted equipment, allow slack for maintenance and avoid placing tension on the connectors.

Recommendations

Use the cable for persistent wired connections in environments where signal integrity is important. When running alongside power lines, keep separation or use conduit to further reduce electromagnetic interference. Inspect connectors periodically for dust and clean gently if needed to maintain optimal contact.
