Smartcardlezer HID Identity OMNIKEY 5427 CK USB 2.0 zwart grijs

The OMNIKEY® 5427 CK is a USB 2.0 smart card reader designed for secure identification and access control. Available in standard and Bluetooth variants, the reader supports a wide range of low- and high-frequency credentials including iCLASS Seos®, iCLASS SE®, iCLASS®, MIFARE®, Indala Prox and HID Prox. It connects via a CCID interface for driverless integration and includes a 1.5 m cable; the device is compact and lightweight for indoor workplace use.

Advantages

The OMNIKEY 5427 CK combines multi-technology contactless support and optional Bluetooth/NFC mobile credential capability in one device, allowing migration in mixed-technology environments. CCID compliance removes the need to install or maintain drivers, simplifying deployment and reducing software lifecycle overhead. The reader supports keyboard wedge (keystroke emulation) to input card data directly into applications and includes a browser-based, web management tool for intuitive configuration without special training.

Suitable for

• Secure computer and network access using physical smart cards
• Environments migrating to mobile credentials via Bluetooth or NFC
• Workplaces requiring quick integration without driver installation
• Systems that benefit from direct keystroke emulation input

How to use

Connect the OMNIKEY 5427 CK to a host computer using the integrated USB 2.0 cable. For most operating systems the CCID interface enables driverless operation—verify OS support in your environment. Present a supported card or mobile credential to the reader; when keyboard wedge is enabled, card data can be entered directly into active applications via keystroke emulation. Use the built-in web-based management interface in a browser to configure reader settings and manage Bluetooth/NFC pairing if using the Bluetooth variant.

Recommendations

Use the Bluetooth variant only where mobile credential policies permit; place the reader indoors away from direct moisture and extreme temperatures. For deployments across multiple workstations, test CCID behavior with your target operating systems and applications to confirm keystroke emulation meets workflow requirements.
