CyberLink PowerDVD 24 Ultra is a PC application media player engineered for high-resolution video playback, including native 4K and HDR formats. The software handles local files and networked media, provides precise playback controls, subtitle and audio track management, and delivers a desktop viewing experience optimized for movies, TV shows, and home video collections. PowerDVD 24 Ultra integrates format support and performance features to play back high-bitrate video smoothly on compatible Windows computers.

Advantages

PowerDVD 24 Ultra supports 4K resolution and HDR imaging to reproduce a wider color gamut and extended dynamic range where hardware and source material allow. The player provides fine-grained playback controls for frame-accurate seeking, variable speed playback, and repeat or loop functions. It includes subtitle and multiple audio track handling for multilingual content, and supports playback from local drives, external storage, and network shares. The application is designed to minimize stutter and handle high-bitrate files using optimized decoding pipelines.

How to use

Install the application on a compatible Windows PC and open the program to access local or network media. Use the file browser or drag-and-drop to load video files. Choose the desired audio track and subtitle stream from the player interface; use the playback controls for seeking, pausing, and adjusting playback speed. For optimal display of 4K or HDR content, connect the PC to a compatible monitor or TV and ensure the operating system and graphics drivers are configured to allow the highest available resolution and HDR output.

Recommendations

For reliable 4K HDR playback, use a modern CPU and GPU that support hardware decoding of the source format, keep graphics drivers up to date, and play files from fast storage or a high-bandwidth network connection. When viewing HDR content, enable HDR output in Windows display settings and confirm your display supports the HDR standard used by the file. Use external subtitle files only from trusted sources to avoid compatibility issues.
