Staalkabel EUROLITE 5801048G 1000 x 4 mm zilver met kous

Steel cable EUROLITE 5801048G 1000 x 4 mm silver with thimble is a small-diameter steel rope supplied with a fitted thimble that protects connection points from wear. The cable is manufactured for general-purpose load-bearing, securing and rigging applications where a flexible but strong line is required. Its silver finish provides corrosion resistance appropriate for indoor and limited outdoor use and the thimble forms a durable eye for shackles, hooks or wire rope clips.

Advantages

The construction delivers a balance of flexibility and tensile strength in a compact 4 mm diameter, allowing easy handling and bending around pulleys or through fittings. The fitted thimble reduces friction and abrasion at the attachment point, extending the service life of the loop. The silver surface treatment helps resist oxidation and keeps the cable looking consistent during routine use. As a ready-to-use assembly, it saves time compared with forming and swaging your own eyes.

How to use

Pass the free end of the cable through the thimble to create the required eye and secure the end using an appropriate method for steel wire rope—such as wire rope clips, swage sleeves or mechanical ferrules—following the manufacturer’s installation guidelines for the chosen connector. Ensure the thimble sits correctly in the eye and that any clamps are tightened to specified torque values or swaged to recommended dimensions. Before putting into service, inspect the cable for kinks, broken strands or surface corrosion and test the assembly at low load to confirm correct installation.

Recommendations

Use the cable within its intended light-load applications and avoid shock loading or side-loading on the thimble. Regularly inspect connection points for wear and replace the assembly if strand damage, severe corrosion or deformation of the thimble is present. Store the cable coiled without tight bends and keep it dry to prolong service life.
