Stereostekker 2,5 mm ShiverPeaks 51301 — 2,5 mm stereo-audioaansluiting

ShiverPeaks 51301 is a 2.5 mm stereo plug intended for connecting portable audio devices, headsets and audio equipment that use a 2.5 mm TRS interface. The metal-bodied connector delivers a compact, standardized connection for left and right audio channels and ground, making it suitable for repairs, cable assemblies and custom audio leads in both consumer and professional environments.

Advantages

The metal housing ensures mechanical durability and reliable contact continuity. Its compact 2.5 mm TRS form factor supports stereo signals while occupying minimal space, allowing use in slim or space-constrained devices. A standardized tip-ring-sleeve configuration provides compatibility with equipment that accepts 2.5 mm stereo plugs, and the straightforward construction facilitates soldering and cable termination during repair or assembly tasks.

Suitable for

• Repairing or replacing worn 2.5 mm audio plugs on portable players and headsets
• Building custom audio cables and extension leads
• Connecting small-format audio equipment and communication devices
• Prototyping and DIY electronics projects requiring a compact stereo connector

Key specifications

• Connector type: 2.5 mm TRS (stereo tip-ring-sleeve)
• Body material: metal housing for enhanced durability
• Signal supported: stereo audio (left, right, ground)
• Mounting: inline cable plug for cable assemblies and repairs
• Application environment: consumer and professional audio setups

How to use

Prepare the audio cable by stripping the outer jacket and separating the left, right and ground conductors. Tin the conductor ends and the connector solder pads to ensure a reliable solder joint. Slide any strain relief or boot onto the cable before soldering. Solder the left (tip), right (ring) and ground (sleeve) conductors to the corresponding terminals on the plug, taking care to avoid solder bridges. After soldering, verify continuity and correct wiring with a multimeter, then assemble the housing and secure the strain relief.

Recommendations

Use appropriate cable types and shielded conductors for reduced noise in audio signals. Avoid applying excessive mechanical stress to the plug once installed and use strain relief to prolong connector life. For best results in professional audio applications, verify connector compatibility with the target device and test signal routing before finalizing installations.
