Stereostekker ShiverPeaks 51200-MG vergulde metalen 3,5 mm jackstekker

ShiverPeaks Stereo Plug 51200-MG is a compact metal 3.5 mm connector with gold-plated contacts designed for reliable stereo signal transmission. The connector is intended for use in audio cable repair, headphone cable replacements and custom cable assemblies. Its metal housing provides mechanical strength while gold-plated contacts reduce contact resistance and improve corrosion resistance for consistent audio performance in portable devices and consumer audio equipment.

Advantages

The metal housing offers enhanced durability compared with plastic plugs, resisting mechanical wear from repeated insertion and bending. Gold-plated contacts minimize oxidation and ensure stable electrical contact, which helps maintain clear left and right channel transmission. The compact form factor makes it suitable for confined spaces and lightweight cable solutions without adding bulk.

Suitable for

• Repairing or replacing headphone cables
• Building custom stereo audio cables
• Connecting portable audio players and smartphones to external systems
• DIY audio projects and hobbyist cable assemblies

Key specifications

• Connector type: 3.5 mm stereo (TRS)
• Contact plating: gold-plated contacts for improved conductivity and corrosion resistance
• Housing material: metal for increased mechanical strength
• Application: stereo signal transmission for headphones and portable audio devices
• Form factor: compact plug suitable for low-profile cable assemblies

How to use

Prepare the audio cable by stripping the outer jacket and separating the left, right and ground conductors. Solder or crimp each conductor to the corresponding terminal on the plug following the TRS wiring convention: tip = left, ring = right, sleeve = ground. After wiring, assemble the metal housing and secure any strain relief if present. Test the connection with a known audio source and headphones to verify left and right channels and absence of noise or intermittent contact.

Recommendations

For reliable long-term performance, avoid excessive bending near the connector and ensure proper strain relief is installed. Use appropriate soldering temperatures and flux to prevent damage to the gold plating and insulators. When used in mobile applications, periodically inspect the contact surfaces for dirt or oxidation and clean gently with isopropyl alcohol if needed.
