How to use

Mount the included Lumix S 24–105mm f/4 MACRO O.I.S. lens on the DC-S1R II body and set power on. For high-resolution stills, choose appropriate exposure settings or use Aperture Priority/Manual modes and set RAW recording for maximum detail. Use AFC 40 fps burst mode for fast-moving subjects and rely on Phase Hybrid AF with AI for subject tracking. For video, select the desired resolution/bit-depth (for example 8K 10-bit or C4K 120p 10-bit) and, when needed, enable V-Log for extended dynamic range or ProRes RAW HQ for internal high-quality capture. Configure dual card slots and, if required, insert CFexpress Type B in Slot 1 or connect a USB-SSD for direct recording.

Recommendations

Use 24–105mm focal range for general-purpose shooting and step to longer focal lengths for distant subjects. When recording high-bitrate 8K or ProRes RAW, use CFexpress Type B cards or a connected USB-SSD to avoid write-speed limitations. Enable in-body stabilization and Active I.S. for handheld video; consider a tripod and gimbal for extended takes or studio work. Keep firmware updated and use the LUMIX Flow and LUMIX Lab apps or compatible software (Capture One, Frame.io Camera to Cloud) to streamline post-production and sharing.
