tesaflex® 4163 PVC-isolatieband 19 mm x 20 m zwart 4163-187-92

Electrical installations and repairs demand a tape that insulates reliably, resists abrasion, and withstands temperature swings without peeling or cracking. The tesaflex® 4163 delivers exactly that: a premium PVC insulation tape engineered for professional electricians and demanding DIY users who need consistent, long-lasting protection for splices, cable bundling, and marking.

Who is it for

This tape is built for electricians, maintenance technicians, and advanced hobbyists working on low-voltage wiring, cable harnessing, and general electrical repairs. If you need a tape that meets VDE and IMQ standards, offers excellent dielectric strength, and remains flexible even in cold conditions, this is your go-to solution.

Main features

• High-quality PVC backing with aggressive rubber adhesive for secure, long-term bonding.
• Excellent electrical insulation: dielectric breakdown voltage up to 9000 V and dielectric strength of 40 kV/mm.
• Self-extinguishing and flame retardant, meeting VDE (EN 60454-3-1 Type 5) and IMQ standards.
• Wide temperature range from -5 °C to +90 °C, suitable for indoor and protected outdoor use.
• Good UV and weather resistance for durable outdoor applications.
• Elongation at break of 220% allows the tape to conform tightly to irregular shapes and provide strain relief.
• Strong adhesion to steel (2.5 N/cm) and tensile strength of 30 N/cm ensure the tape stays in place under mechanical stress.

Tips

For best results, apply the tape to clean, dry surfaces at room temperature. Stretch the tape slightly while wrapping to ensure a tight, void-free insulation layer. Overlap each turn by half the tape width for maximum protection. Store the tape in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve its adhesive properties.
