These men's convertible hiking pants from The North Face zip off at the knee to become shorts when the trail heats up, then zip back on when the wind picks up. Why choose it

The FlashDry-XD™ fabric actively pulls sweat away from your skin and dries fast, so you stay comfortable on steep climbs or humid days. The stretch nylon-elastane blend moves with you, and the tapered leg reduces snagging on rocks or brush. With UPF 50+, you get serious sun protection, and the DWR finish sheds light rain and stains. The zip-off legs give you two garments in one—saving pack space and weight on multi-day trips.

Ideal use cases

• Day hikes and backpacking in variable weather
• Travel where you need versatile, packable clothing
• Summer trekking with intense sun exposure
• Camping and outdoor work in warm climates
• Casual wear with a technical edge

Good to know

The regular tapered fit is true to size for most men; if you prefer a roomier cut, consider sizing up. The integrated webbing belt is adjustable and low-profile under a hip belt. The zip-off legs are clearly marked left and right for easy reattachment. Machine wash cold and tumble dry low to maintain the DWR finish. This product is part of The North Face's sustainable materials initiative, made without intentionally added PFAS.
