TP-Link Archer AX1500 dual-band Wi-Fi 6-router, zwart

Wi‑Fi 6 delivers a significant increase in speed and overall capacity, enabling faster connections and reduced interruptions. With 1024‑QAM and an increased symbol rate, newer devices can reach Gigabit‑class wireless speeds—allowing phones and laptops to approach the performance of a wired Ethernet connection. The router uses OFDMA to handle many devices simultaneously and beamforming with four antennas to extend and focus coverage. A 1.5 GHz triple‑core CPU processes large data flows and reduces latency for responsive online playback, video calls and gaming.

Advantages

Up to 1.5 Gbps combined Wi‑Fi throughput, improved multi‑device performance through OFDMA, and broader signal reach via beamforming and four external antennas. The 1.5 GHz triple‑core processor ensures low latency and quick response for streaming and interactive applications. Full gigabit WAN/LAN ports allow the router to take full advantage of high‑speed broadband. Easy setup is available through a mobile app, and EasyMesh compatibility allows flexible expansion into a whole‑home mesh network. A voice‑based smart connect option simplifies adding new devices without entering a password.

Key specifications

• Wi‑Fi standard: Wi‑Fi 6 (802.11ax)
• Maximum wireless throughput: up to 1.5 Gbps (aggregate)
• Modulation: 1024‑QAM
• Processor: 1.5 GHz triple‑core CPU
• Antennae: 4 external antennas with beamforming
• Multi‑device technology: OFDMA for simultaneous connections
• Ports: full gigabit WAN/LAN ports (up to 1 Gbps)
• Mesh support: EasyMesh‑compatible
• Setup: mobile app (Tether) for quick configuration

How to use

Install the router in a central location and connect the WAN port to your modem using an Ethernet cable. Power on the device and follow the instructions in the tether mobile app to complete the initial setup. Use the app to name the network, set passwords, and apply firmware updates. For best coverage, position the antennas upright and place the router away from large metal objects and thick walls. To expand coverage, pair with an EasyMesh‑compatible unit to create a seamless mesh network.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, connect high‑bandwidth devices (gaming consoles, streaming set‑top boxes, desktop PCs) to the 5 GHz band and ensure your client devices support Wi‑Fi 6 to benefit from gigabit‑level speeds. Use the mobile tether app for initial setup and regular firmware updates. Place the router centrally and consider additional mesh nodes for larger homes.
