How to use

Set the poles to the effective length of 115 cm and adjust the strap so the hand fits comfortably and the wrist strap supports part of the load. Grip the handle so the pole leans slightly behind you while walking; plant the tip ahead of your foot strike and push down and back to transfer force efficiently. On steep climbs shorten your stride rhythm and use a more vertical pole position; on descents lean the pole forward to increase braking support and protect knees. Inspect tips and baskets before each outing and replace worn components as needed.

Recommendations

Use the Leki TRL Ultratrail FX One poles with appropriate trail baskets on soft ground and switch to small or no baskets on hard-packed or rocky terrain. Regularly check the integrity of the grip strap and tip, clean components after muddy or wet conditions, and store poles dry to maintain performance.
