Ventilator Scythe Mugen 6 12 cm 300-2000 tpm luchtstroom 102,44 m³/h

The Scythe Mugen 6 is a 120 mm CPU air cooler that combines an improved heatsink with the new Wonder Tornado fan to deliver enhanced cooling performance while keeping a modest height of 154 mm. The heatsink uses a higher fin density and six nickel-plated copper heat pipes with improved soldering for better thermal transfer. Its asymmetrical layout reduces interference with front RAM slots and shifts the cooler away from the GPU. The H.P.M.S. V mounting system ensures compatibility with recent CPU sockets including Intel LGA 1700 and AMD AM5 and provides balanced contact pressure via a pre-assembled mounting bar with spring-loaded screws.

Advantages

The upgraded heatsink increases fin count by 45% compared to previous designs, improving thermal conductivity without increasing overall height. The asymmetrical construction enhances motherboard and case compatibility by avoiding obstruction of front-row RAM and limiting proximity to the GPU. The bundled Wonder Tornado 120 mm fan features a 9-blade vortex design and a sealed precision fluid dynamic bearing for reliable, quiet operation up to 2000 RPM, while rubberized frame pads reduce vibration and noise transmission. The Hyper Precision Mounting System V simplifies installation and provides even pressure across the CPU contact surface.

Suitable for

• Air cooling of desktop CPUs in mid- and full-tower PC cases
• Systems requiring compatibility with Intel LGA 1700 and AMD AM5 sockets
• Builds where RAM slot clearance and GPU proximity are a concern
• Quiet desktop or workstation builds prioritizing low noise at higher airflow

How to use

Mount the cooler using the pre-assembled H.P.M.S. V mounting bar and spring-loaded screws to ensure even contact pressure on the CPU. Follow the motherboard and CPU socket-specific installation steps: align the backplate and mounting brackets, place the heatsink over the CPU with appropriate thermal paste, then secure the mounting bar and connect the fan to the CPU fan header. Adjust fan speed through the motherboard BIOS or a supported fan controller as needed within the 300–2000 RPM range.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, apply a thin, even layer of quality thermal paste, ensure unobstructed airflow within the case, and allow 5–10 mm clearance for front RAM modules. Regularly clean dust from the heatsink fins and fan blades to maintain airflow and cooling efficiency.
