AC adapter HP 65W model 854117-850 for HP laptops is a mains power supply that provides 65 watts of DC output to charge and power compatible HP notebook computers. Designed as a replacement or spare for the original charger, it delivers regulated voltage and current to support typical laptop charging cycles while maintaining stable operation during use at home, in the office, or on the go.

Advantages

The adapter offers a compact form factor and a standardized connector that fits a range of HP laptops, combining portability with steady power delivery. Built-in safety features protect against overcurrent and short-circuit conditions, and the unit is engineered to produce low electrical noise and consistent voltage under normal operating conditions. Its 65 W output is suitable for mainstream notebooks that require moderate power for charging and everyday productivity tasks.

Suitable for

• Charging compatible HP laptops and powering them during use
• Replacing a lost or damaged original AC adapter
• Keeping as a spare for travel or remote work
• Use in home, office, classroom, or hotel environments

Key specifications

• Output power: 65 W
• Input: mains AC (compatible with standard household voltages where specified)
• Output type: DC power suitable for HP laptop charging
• Design: external single-block adapter with attached cable and connector
• Safety features: overcurrent and short-circuit protection, stabilized output
• Typical use: charging and powering notebooks during normal operation

How to use

Connect the adapter to a suitable mains outlet using the supplied mains lead or the integrated input connector, then plug the DC output connector into the laptop’s power socket until it seats securely. Ensure the laptop is powered off or in a charging-ready state when first connecting to verify correct operation. Monitor the laptop charge indicator to confirm the battery is charging. Unplug the adapter from the mains when not in use or during extended periods of inactivity.

Recommendations

Use the adapter with compatible HP notebook models and avoid forcing incompatible connectors. Operate the adapter in well-ventilated locations and avoid covering it during use to prevent heat buildup. If the adapter becomes unusually hot, emits unusual smells, or shows signs of damage, disconnect it from mains and replace it with a known-good unit. For best results, pair the adapter with laptops that specify a 65 W power input or recommend similar power ratings.
