Waterpomptang Knipex 86 05 250

Slip-joint pliers Knipex 86 05 250 are made from forged, oil‑hardened chrome‑vanadium electric steel for long service life and high strength. With a total length of 250 mm and a maximum nut capacity of 46 mm, these adjustable pliers combine a wide gripping range with parallel, smooth jaws suitable for use on plated and chrome surfaces without damaging them.

Advantages

The tool replaces the need for separate metric and imperial spanners by offering an adjustable tightening function and a push‑button hinge for quick size changes on the workpiece. Parallel smooth jaws and zero‑backlash jaw pressure protect edges of sensitive components, while a ratchet‑type principle and a lever transmission greater than 10:1 provide strong, reliable gripping, quick tightening and controlled release. The hinge bolt is designed for secure catching to prevent unintentional shifting.

Suitable for

• Gripping and holding plated fittings and chrome surfaces without damage
• Adjustable tightening and loosening of nuts and bolts up to 46 mm
• Pressing, bending and general workshop tasks
• Professional trades and DIY maintenance

How to use

Select the required jaw opening with the push‑button hinge adjustment and position the parallel smooth jaws on the workpiece. Squeeze the handles to grip; the ratchet‑type action allows quick tightening and the lever transmission increases gripping force. To change size on the workpiece, release the button and reposition the jaws. Use steady pressure when working on plated or chrome surfaces to avoid surface marking.

Recommendations

For long tool life, clean off dirt and debris after use and store in a dry place. Do not use the pliers as a hammer or for cutting hardened wire. For best results on plated fittings, maintain even jaw pressure and avoid twisting motions that could damage finishes.
