SAS-kabel Western Digital Mini SAS HD SFF-8643 naar Mini SAS HD SFF-8643 3 m

Western Digital Mini SAS HD SFF-8643 to Mini SAS HD SFF-8643 cable, 3 m, is a high-density SAS link designed to connect host adapters, RAID controllers and storage enclosures that use SFF-8643 ports. The cable supports direct SAS connections for data transfer and device chaining in server and rack storage environments where a reliable internal or externally routed SAS link is required.

Advantages

This Mini SAS HD cable provides a compact, high-density connector interface that reduces port space while maintaining the signal integrity required for SAS connections. With a 3 meter length it enables flexible routing inside racks or between adjacent enclosures, and its matched SFF-8643 connectors ensure compatibility with devices that implement Mini SAS HD ports. The design focuses on stable data transfer and simple point-to-point connectivity without active electronics.

Suitable for

• Connecting RAID controllers to SAS backplanes or storage enclosures
• Linking host bus adapters (HBAs) to external or internal storage units
• Chaining multiple SAS devices within server racks
• Upgrading or replacing existing SFF-8643 cable assemblies in data centres

Key specifications

• Connector type: Mini SAS HD (SFF-8643) to Mini SAS HD (SFF-8643)
• Cable length: 3 meters
• Topology: Direct point-to-point SAS link for device-to-device connections
• Application: Internal or externally routed SAS connections in server/storage environments
• Compatibility: Devices and controllers with SFF-8643 ports

How to use

Align each SFF-8643 connector with the corresponding port on the controller and the enclosure, then insert the connectors until they seat securely. Ensure the cable is routed to avoid sharp bends and to maintain appropriate airflow within the rack. If used externally between enclosures, secure the cable to prevent strain on the connectors. Confirm link status on the controller or enclosure after connection to verify that the SAS link is established.

Recommendations

Use the cable with compatible SFF-8643 ports and in environments that follow server rack cable management practices. Avoid excessive bending radius and mechanical stress on the connectors; keep the cable away from high-interference sources and ensure proper grounding of connected equipment.
