Wireless Access Point Ubiquiti UISP airMAX LiteBeam AC 5 GHz XR Wi-Fi 802.11ac

The Ubiquiti UISP airMAX LiteBeam AC 5 GHz XR is an ultra-lightweight outdoor wireless station that creates extremely long-distance point-to-point and point-to-multipoint links on the 5 GHz band. Supporting the 802.11ac standard, the device integrates a high-gain antenna and is designed to deliver high-throughput connections suitable for serving multiple subscribers from a single unit. It includes a single RJ-45 Ethernet port, PoE support, WPA2-PSK security, and a compact white enclosure with a maximum power consumption of 7 W.

Advantages

The LiteBeam AC 5 GHz XR combines a proprietary high-gain antenna with an 802.11ac radio to achieve extended-range performance and throughput up to the device capability over the 5 GHz frequency. Its lightweight, weather-resistant design simplifies outdoor mounting and reduces deployment complexity, while PoE and a single Ethernet port enable straightforward installation and power delivery. WPA2-PSK provides standard wireless security for subscriber connections.

Suitable for

• Long-distance point-to-point wireless backhaul
• Point-to-multipoint subscriber links in rural or suburban areas
• Deployments requiring a compact, easy-to-install outdoor access point

How to use

Mount the LiteBeam AC outdoors with a clear line of sight to the remote site to achieve maximum range and reliability. Connect the device to a PoE injector or compatible switch using the RJ-45 port to supply power and network connectivity. Configure the radio settings and security (WPA2-PSK) via the UISP/airMAX management interface, align the high-gain antenna for optimal link quality, and verify throughput and signal strength before finalizing the installation.

Recommendations

For optimal long-distance performance, ensure unobstructed line of sight between endpoints, perform precise antenna alignment, and use appropriate channel and power settings in compliance with local regulations. Regularly monitor link metrics through the UISP/airMAX interface and secure the management access with strong credentials.
