NB MOBILE 1515/A/V/1715/A/V dummy ODD

When a laptop ships without an optical drive, the empty bay becomes a weak point—dust enters, components are exposed, and the chassis looks unfinished. This dummy ODD cover solves that problem by filling the slim 12.7mm bay on WORTMANN NB MOBILE 1515, 1515A, 1515V, 1715, 1715A, and 1715V notebooks. It restores a clean, seamless appearance while protecting internal hardware from debris and accidental contact.

Who is it for

IT administrators, refurbishers, and individual users who have removed or omitted the optical drive from a compatible WORTMANN laptop. It is ideal for fleet deployments where optical drives are unnecessary, or for replacing a damaged or missing original cover.

Main features

• Precision-molded ABS plastic matches the laptop's original finish and contours.
• Fits standard 12.7 mm slim optical drive bays—the most common laptop ODD form factor.
• Solid front bezel with no vents blocks dust and foreign objects from entering the chassis.
• Slide-in design with screw fastening ensures a secure, rattle-free installation.
• Ultra-lightweight construction adds negligible weight to the laptop.
• Black color blends with most NB MOBILE series chassis for a factory look.

Tips

Before ordering, verify that your laptop model is one of the listed NB MOBILE variants and that the original optical drive bay height is 12.7 mm. Installation requires only a small Phillips screwdriver; remove any existing drive or bracket, slide the cover into place, and secure with the original screws. Keep the original drive bay screws in a safe place if you plan to reinstall an optical drive later.
