The Brodit 713348 active holder is a dashboard-mounted solution for mobile phones and smartphones that provides a discreet installation without visible cables. It supplies power to the device via an integrated charger and includes a Molex connector for adding an adapter to power a GPS receiver or other auxiliary equipment (not for data communication or audio). The unit supports both 12 V and 24 V vehicle systems, is E-approved and is manufactured in Sweden. Professional installation is recommended.

Advantages

This active holder combines a tidy in-dash installation with an easy-switching system that lets you replace only the holder while keeping the installed wiring. The quick-disconnect 6-pin Molex connector makes upgrades and service fast. The holder offers a 2.7 A charging output (use a 2 A fuse for the power cable as specified), a tilt-swivel mechanism for 17° tilt and full 360° rotation to switch between portrait and landscape, and a compact mounting plate compatible with 4 mm AMPS holes. Constructed from high-grade black ABS and acetal plastic for durability.

How to use

Have the holder installed professionally into the dashboard and connect the power cable to the vehicle electrical system using the recommended fuse. Attach the holder to a ProClip mounting platform or a pedestal mount using the 42 x 50 mm mounting plate and the 4 mm AMPS holes. Insert your phone into the holder and adjust the tilt and swivel to the desired viewing angle. If you need to power an auxiliary device, connect an appropriate adapter to the Molex connector; note that this connection supplies power only and does not support data or audio signals.

Recommendations

Use the easy-switching quick connector when replacing the holder to avoid rewiring; ensure fuses and wiring match the installer’s guidance. Professional installation is recommended to secure correct mounting and safe electrical connection.
