3M DT595200197 Black duct tape is a versatile, cloth-backed adhesive tape designed for bundling, temporary repairs and surface protection in demanding environments. With a 3 m roll length, 19 mm width and 1.1 mm thickness, this black duct tape combines strong adhesion and tear resistance for reliable performance on many substrates. The tape is specified to withstand temperatures up to 300 °C, making it suitable where heat resistance is required for short periods or localized tasks.

Advantages

The tape offers robust adhesion and a durable cloth backing that resists tearing during use. Its compact 19 mm width and 3 m length make it handy for precise repairs and bundling in confined spaces. The 1.1 mm thickness provides a balance between conformability and mechanical strength, while the black finish conceals repairs and blends with darker surfaces. Rated for operation up to 300 °C, the tape performs in applications that involve elevated temperatures.

How to use

Ensure the surfaces are clean, dry and free of dust, oil or loose particles before application. Cut the required length of tape and apply it smoothly onto the surface, pressing firmly to ensure full contact and adhesion. For bundling, wrap the tape evenly around the items with slight overlap between turns. When used near heat sources, keep in mind the specified temperature limit and avoid prolonged exposure above the rated temperature. Remove the tape by peeling it back at a steady angle; some adhesive residue may remain on certain substrates.

Recommendations

For best performance, store the tape in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Test adhesion on a small area if using on painted, delicate or sensitive surfaces. Use appropriate protective equipment when applying tape in high-temperature environments and avoid continuous exposure above 300 °C.
