Accesspoint HPE Aruba Networking AP-675 2,4 GHz 5 GHz 6 GHz Wi-Fi 6

The HPE Aruba Networking 670 Series Outdoor Access Point (AP-675) is a high-performance Wi‑Fi 6E outdoor access point designed for demanding exterior environments. It provides tri‑band coverage across 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz, supports a maximum aggregate data rate up to 3.9 Gbps, and includes integrated Bluetooth and 802.15.4 radios for IoT connectivity. The unit is weatherproof, engineered for extreme temperatures and moisture, and supports Power over Ethernet for simplified installation.

Advantages

Wi‑Fi 6E support adds the 6 GHz band for faster throughput and wider channels, improving capacity and reducing congestion. The AP is ruggedized and fully sealed to resist airborne contaminants, precipitation and temperature extremes; it also includes industrial‑strength surge protection on electrical interfaces. Integrated high‑power Bluetooth and Zigbee (802.15.4) radios enable enterprise and industrial IoT deployments, while location awareness via an embedded GPS receiver supports automated frequency coordination where required. Security and efficiency features include OFDMA, MU‑MIMO, enhanced open and WPA3.

Suitable for

• Large outdoor open spaces such as stadiums and public venues
• Industrial yards, transportation hubs and campuses
• Outdoor digital signage and high‑definition video streaming
• Enterprise and industrial IoT deployments (asset tracking, sensors, security)

Key specifications

• Wireless standards: IEEE 802.11ax (Wi‑Fi 6 / 6E), backward compatible with 802.11a/b/g/n/ac
• Frequency bands: 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz (tri‑band)
• Maximum aggregate data rate: up to 3.9 Gbps
• IoT radios: integrated high‑power Bluetooth and 802.15.4 (Zigbee) support
• Environmental protection: weatherproof, fully sealed enclosure with surge protection
• Power: Power over Ethernet (supports 802.3at/802.3bt)
• Physical: colour white; weight approximately 4 kg

How to use

Mount the access point in an appropriate outdoor location following site planning for coverage and line‑of‑sight where applicable. Connect to a compatible PoE switch or injector to provide power and network connectivity, then configure the device using Aruba management tools or your network controller. Enable required radios (2.4/5/6 GHz) and IoT radios, set security policies such as WPA3 and radio management features including automated RF optimisation and client optimisation. If operating in the 6 GHz band in regions requiring AFC, ensure the embedded GPS and AFC service are enabled.

Recommendations

Place the AP where it has clear GPS reception if 6 GHz AFC coordination is required, and choose the appropriate antenna option (omni, directional or point‑to‑point) to match coverage needs. Use industrial‑grade PoE cabling and grounding practices to maintain surge protection effectiveness and follow local regulations for outdoor wireless deployments.
