Accesspoint Sophos AP6 420E 2.4GHz 5GHz 6GHz Wi-Fi 6

The Sophos AP6 420E is a high-performance indoor/outdoor Wi‑Fi 6 access point offering tri-band operation across 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz with a maximum aggregated data rate of 5375 Mbit/s. Designed for cloud or local management via Sophos Central (local management available for a single AP), the AP6 420E integrates WPA3 security, PoE support and Gigabit Ethernet connectivity to meet modern networking requirements in medium and high-density environments.

Advantages

The AP6 420E provides broad device compatibility and improved throughput thanks to Wi‑Fi 6/6E standards, supports centralized management through Sophos Central for unified administration with other Sophos products, and offers a local management option for standalone deployments. Additional practical features include WPA3 encryption for enhanced wireless security, Power over Ethernet installation convenience, and a compact, white design with six integrated antennas for reliable coverage.

Suitable for

• Small to medium enterprises requiring managed Wi‑Fi networks
• High‑density areas such as meeting rooms, lecture halls or retail spaces
• Environments where unified management with other Sophos security products is desired
• Deployments needing PoE-powered access points and Gigabit uplink

How to use

For cloud management, register the AP6 420E in Sophos Central and follow the platform workflow to assign policies, SSIDs and security settings. For local management of a single unit, connect via the device’s management interface for initial configuration. Connect the access point to a PoE-capable switch or injector and to your network via the Gigabit RJ‑45 port, then place the device to provide optimal coverage while observing local installation guidelines.

Recommendations

Place the access point centrally within the coverage area and avoid obstructions. Use Sophos Central to apply WPA3 and role‑based access policies, and ensure PoE power budget and uplink capacity are sufficient for expected client density and throughput.
