Actieve optische kabel CBO SFP28 AOC BlueOptics BO272703Q7M 7 m

Active Optical Cable CBO SFP28 AOC BlueOptics BO272703Q7M 7 m is a factory-terminated fiber solution for direct attachment between SFP28 ports. The 7-meter multimode AOC supports 25GbE links and is intended for short-reach connections in server racks, switch-to-switch links and storage arrays. By using optical transmission it reduces susceptibility to electromagnetic interference and enables compact, low-latency connectivity where copper cabling would be bulky or impractical.

Advantages

This Active Optical Cable offers the bandwidth and signal integrity required for 25GbE networking while simplifying cabling management in dense rack environments. As a pre-terminated plug-and-play assembly, the cable removes the need for separate transceivers and fiber patch cords, reducing installation time and points of failure. Its optical nature minimizes crosstalk and EMI concerns and helps maintain stable high-speed links over the specified 7 m distance.

Suitable for

• Short-reach 25GbE connections between servers and top-of-rack switches
• Interconnects in data center racks and chassis-based environments
• High-density networking setups requiring low-latency links
• Storage networking and switch-to-switch uplinks within a rack

Key specifications

• Connector interface: SFP28 to SFP28 compatible active optical assembly
• Transmission rate: 25 Gigabit Ethernet-compatible
• Cable type: Multimode active optical cable with factory-terminated fibers
• Length: 7 meters
• Propagation: Optical transmission to reduce electromagnetic interference
• Form factor: Compact direct-attach cable suitable for high-density ports

How to use

Install the Active Optical Cable by inserting each SFP28 connector into the corresponding SFP28 port until it latches. Confirm link activity and negotiated speed via the device management interface or LED indicators. No field termination is required; handle the cable by the connectors and avoid tight bends to preserve optical performance. For removal, release the module latch and pull the connector straight out to prevent damage to the port or cable.

Recommendations

Use this AOC for short intra-rack and adjacent-rack 25GbE links where a reliable, low-EMI optical solution is preferred. Avoid routing the cable near sharp edges or within cable trays that force bends below the manufacturer-recommended minimum bend radius. Verify compatibility with your SFP28 ports and confirm firmware or vendor restrictions on direct-attach assemblies if applicable.
