Adapter ShiverPeaks 98815 BNC (video/audio) naar IEC-stekker, passieve coaxiale adapter

ShiverPeaks 98815 is a passive coaxial adapter that converts BNC video/audio connections to an IEC connector. It is designed to bridge devices with BNC terminations—such as CCTV cameras, video recorders, and professional video equipment—with devices, wall outlets or cables that use IEC fittings. The adapter provides simple signal pass-through without active electronics, supporting temporary or permanent adaptations in coaxial signal routing where connector compatibility is required.

Advantages

The adapter offers a compact, passive solution for converting between BNC and IEC connectors without the need for tools or cable rewiring. Its straightforward construction preserves the coaxial signal path and makes it suitable for quick on-site adjustments, troubleshooting, or integration tasks. The adapter’s passive nature avoids additional power requirements or signal processing, maintaining the original characteristics of the connected coaxial line.

Suitable for

• Connecting BNC-terminated CCTV cameras to IEC-equipped wall outlets or cables
• Temporary connections during installation, testing, and maintenance of video systems
• Adapting professional video equipment to consumer-style IEC inputs for monitoring or diagnostics

Key specifications

• Adapter type: passive BNC to IEC coaxial adapter
• Signal paths: video and audio pass-through (analog coaxial)
• Mechanical form: inline connector coupling for quick mating
• Compatibility: BNC male/female to IEC male/female depending on adapter orientation
• Use case: connector conversion for coaxial cables in audio/video systems

How to use

Insert the BNC side of the adapter onto the BNC connector of the source or device by aligning and locking the bayonet coupling. Connect the IEC side to the corresponding IEC socket or mating connector, ensuring a secure mechanical fit. The adapter requires no power or configuration; once connected it provides a direct coaxial signal path. Use it for temporary or semi-permanent connections where a quick conversion between connector types is needed.

Recommendations

For reliable signal transmission, ensure connectors and cable ends are clean and free of debris before mating. Avoid excessive bending or mechanical strain on the cable near the adapter and use the adapter for connector conversion rather than as a long-term signal conditioning solution.
