Afbreekmes Stanley Interlock 18 mm

The Stanley Interlock Snap Off Blade Knife 18 mm is a utility knife designed for controlled, precise cutting in a variety of tasks. It features an 18 mm snap-off blade with a total blade length of 165 mm, combined with a body engineered to provide a secure grip and simple blade replacement. The knife is suitable for cutting paper, cardboard, film, carpet trimming and other common materials encountered in workshop, construction and craft environments.

Advantages

The Interlock mechanism secures the blade during use to reduce accidental retraction or movement, while the snap-off design allows quick restoration of a sharp edge without full blade replacement. The 18 mm blade width offers a balance between rigidity and versatility for straight cuts and controlled trimming. The handle geometry and textured grip improve control and reduce hand fatigue during repetitive tasks.

Suitable for

• Cutting cardboard, corrugated board and packaging
• Precision trimming of paper, films and laminates
• Carpet or linoleum trimming and edge work
• Workshop and general-purpose cutting tasks

Key specifications

• Blade type: 18 mm snap-off segmented blade
• Usable blade length: 165 mm
• Locking mechanism: interlock-style blade lock for secure positioning
• Handle: ergonomic body with textured surface for grip
• Blade change: tool-free snap-off blade replacement

How to use

Extend the required number of blade segments to achieve the desired cutting reach and engage the interlock mechanism to secure the blade. Hold the knife with a firm grip, align the blade with the cutting line and apply steady, even pressure while drawing the knife toward or away from you depending on the task. When a segment becomes dull, retract the blade, snap off the used segment along the scored line, then extend and lock the next fresh segment. Replace the blade entirely if all segments are spent or if the blade is chipped.

Recommendations

Use appropriate personal protective equipment such as cut-resistant gloves and eye protection when cutting. Store the knife with the blade retracted when not in use. For safe blade snapping, use the built-in snapper or a designated snapping tool and follow local disposal guidelines for spent blade segments.
