Actieve optische kabel CBO SFP-25G-D-AOC-50M 25G 50 m

Active Optical Cable CBO SFP-25G-D-AOC-50M 25G 50 m is a factory-assembled SFP+ AOC that provides a fixed 50-metre optical link at 25 Gbps. It integrates optics and cable in a single, pre-terminated assembly compatible with SFP+ ports and intended for short-reach high-speed connections. The cable delivers low latency and reduced electrical interference compared with copper solutions, and it operates without separate transceiver modules, simplifying installation and inventory.

Advantages

This Active Optical Cable offers a stable 25 Gbps throughput over a 50 m reach with low power consumption and minimal signal attenuation. Its pre-terminated design eliminates field termination and reduces deployment time. Optical transmission reduces electromagnetic interference and crosstalk while maintaining stable latency characteristics for data centre and enterprise networks. The integrated connector form factor is compatible with standard SFP+ cages, enabling direct plug-and-play connections.

Suitable for

• Data centre uplinks and server-to-switch interconnects
• Switch-to-switch high-speed links within racks and between adjacent racks
• High-density network deployments requiring predictable 25G optical links
• Environments where reduced EMI and low power consumption are important

Key specifications

• Nominal data rate: 25 Gbps
• Cable type: active optical assembly (pre-terminated AOC)
• Length: 50 metres
• Connector form factor: SFP+ compatible plug
• Transmission medium: multimode optical fibre within the AOC
• Typical use: short-reach links between SFP+ ports
• Latency: low, suitable for high-performance networking

How to use

Install the Active Optical Cable by inserting each SFP+ compatible connector into the corresponding SFP+ port on network devices until the latch engages. Verify that connected devices recognise the link and report the expected 25 Gbps speed. There is no separate transceiver to install; handle the cable by the connector housings and route the optical assembly to avoid sharp bends or kinks. For best performance, maintain proper bend radius and secure the cable to prevent strain on the connectors.

Recommendations

Use the cable within the specified 50 m reach and maintain manufacturer-recommended bend radius. Confirm device compatibility with SFP+ AOC modules and, if necessary, check link state and firmware settings on switches or servers. Store unused cables in a clean, dry environment and avoid excessive pulling force when routing through racks and cable management.
