Actieve optische kabel CBO SFP-AOC-10G-5M 10G SFP+ AOC, lengte 5 m

The Active Optical Cable CBO SFP-AOC-10G-5M is a 10G SFP+ AOC with a fixed 5 meter length, engineered for short-reach high-speed connections in data centers and enterprise networks. It provides a 10 Gbps optical link between compatible SFP+ ports, combining low latency, low power consumption and immunity to electromagnetic interference. The cable supports direct interconnects between switches, servers and storage devices where a reliable, compact optical connection is required.

Advantages

This 10G SFP+ active optical cable offers a compact form factor and plug-and-play SFP+ compatibility for fast deployment. By using optical transmission it eliminates crosstalk and significantly reduces susceptibility to electromagnetic interference compared with copper alternatives. The fixed 5 m length simplifies cable management in racks and reduces excess slack. Designed for short-reach applications, the cable delivers stable 10 Gbps throughput with low latency and predictable performance.

Suitable for

• Direct connections between network switches with SFP+ ports
• Server-to-switch links in rack environments
• High-performance storage area network (SAN) interconnects
• Top-of-rack and end-of-row cabling in data centers

Key specifications

• Data rate: 10 Gbps
• Connector type: SFP+ modules on both ends (active optical cable)
• Length: 5 m fixed
• Transmission medium: multimode optical fiber within the AOC assembly
• Typical reach: short-reach 10G applications (up to 5 m)
• Latency: low, suitable for latency-sensitive links
• Power consumption: low-power SFP+ AOC design

How to use

Install the cable by inserting each SFP+ connector into the corresponding SFP+ port on network equipment while the devices are powered according to vendor guidelines. Ensure connectors are aligned and seated until the module latch engages. No additional transceivers or fiber patch cords are required because the AOC integrates the optical transceiver elements. Verify link status on both devices and configure network interfaces as needed for 10 Gbps operation.

Recommendations

Handle the cable by the connector housings and avoid bending the cable sharply; maintain a bend radius consistent with manufacturer guidance. Use the fixed 5 m length for tidy rack layouts and avoid coupling with high-power electrical cables to preserve signal integrity. Confirm device compatibility with SFP+ AOC modules and firmware requirements before deployment.
