AOC CBO AOC-Q-Q-40G-10M-BO actieve optische kabel QSFP+ naar QSFP+ 10m 40 Gbit/s

Active optical cable AOC CBO AOC-Q-Q-40G-10M-BO is a 10 m QSFP+ to QSFP+ link that supports 40 Gbit/s data rates for short-range high-speed interconnects. Designed for use in data centres and enterprise networks, this BlueOptics cable provides plug-and-play connectivity between switches, servers and network appliances. The QSFP+ form factor ensures compatibility with standard 40G ports, while the optical active design reduces electrical power draw and maintains signal integrity over the 10-metre distance.

Advantages

The active optical cable delivers low latency and high throughput suitable for 40G networking without the need for separate transceivers. Its 10 m length covers common rack-to-rack and row-to-row connections in modern data centre layouts. The QSFP+ to QSFP+ configuration simplifies installation and reduces cabling complexity, and the optical medium reduces susceptibility to electromagnetic interference compared with copper alternatives.

Suitable for

• Interconnects between 40G QSFP+ switches
• Server-to-switch high-speed links in data centre racks
• Connections between network appliances and storage arrays
• Short-range backbone links within enterprise wiring closets

Key specifications

• Connector type: QSFP+ to QSFP+
• Length: 10 metres
• Data rate: up to 40 Gbit/s
• Cable type: active optical cable (AOC)
• Application: short-range 40G links for data centre and enterprise networks
• Form factor: hot-pluggable QSFP+ module interface

How to use

Install the cable by inserting each QSFP+ connector into the corresponding 40G QSFP+ port on your network devices until the latch secures. The AOC is plug-and-play and requires no additional configuration or external power. Verify link status through the device management interface and ensure firmware or port settings match 40G operation. For best results, route the cable to avoid sharp bends and mechanical strain on the connectors.

Recommendations

Use the active optical cable for short to medium rack-to-rack links where 40 Gbit/s bandwidth and low latency are required. Maintain bend radius guidelines provided by the manufacturer, avoid excessive pulling force, and store or route the cable in an environment free of strong electromagnetic sources and extreme temperatures to preserve performance and service life.
