AOC SFP+ CBO Sonicwall SFP-AOC-10G-7M 10G 7m actieve optische kabel

The AOC SFP+ CBO Sonicwall SFP-AOC-10G-7M 10G 7m active optical cable is a 10 Gigabit SFP+ direct-attach solution with a 7-metre multimode fiber link. Engineered for short-range, high-bandwidth connections between SFP+ ports, this active optical cable provides a compact, low-power alternative to traditional copper DACs and separate transceivers plus patch cables. It is suitable for data center top-of-rack links, server-to-switch connections and inter-switch uplinks where reliable 10Gbps throughput and reduced electromagnetic interference are required.

Advantages

This AOC offers stable 10Gbps performance over a 7 m distance with lower latency and power consumption compared with comparable copper solutions. The integrated optical transceivers eliminate the need for separate modules and fiber patch cords, simplifying installation and reducing potential points of failure. Its optical construction reduces susceptibility to electromagnetic interference and improves signal integrity in dense rack environments. The plug-and-play design supports straightforward deployment without manual transceiver pairing or additional configuration.

Suitable for

• Short-range 10GbE links between switches and routers
• Server connections to top-of-rack switches in data centers
• Links between security appliances and network infrastructure with SFP+ ports
• High-density rack environments requiring compact cabling

Key specifications

• Interface type: SFP+ active optical cable
• Data rate: 10 Gigabits per second (10Gbps)
• Cable length: 7 metres
• Cable type: multimode optical fiber with integrated transceivers
• Connector form factor: SFP+ on both ends
• Typical use: short-range, high-bandwidth interconnects

How to use

Insert each SFP+ connector into compatible SFP+ ports on networking devices until they click into place. Ensure both devices support active optical cables and 10GbE operation. After insertion, the devices should detect the link automatically; verify link status via device LEDs or management interfaces. To remove the cable, depress the connector latch and pull straight out to avoid damaging the port. Avoid bending the cable beyond manufacturer-recommended bend radii and protect connectors from dust when not in use.

Recommendations

Use this 7 m AOC for short, fixed-length patching in racks and server cabinets to minimize cable clutter and improve airflow. Verify firmware and compatibility notes on the device vendor’s support resources if using with security appliances or branded systems to ensure full interoperability.
