AOC SFP28 Active Optical kabel CBO AOC-SFP28-CABLE-30M-BO — 30 m, SFP28 25 Gbit/s, stekker naar stekker

CBO AOC-SFP28-CABLE-30M-BO is an active optical cable (AOC) with SFP28 connectors, 30 meters in length and rated for 25 Gbit/s data transmission. The cable is engineered for direct connections between SFP28 ports on switches, servers and storage devices in data center and high-performance networking environments. Its optical design reduces signal attenuation over the 30 m span while providing low latency and inherent immunity to electromagnetic interference.

Advantages

The AOC delivers 25 Gbit/s full-duplex throughput with SFP28 form-factor connectors, offering a plug-and-play alternative to transceivers plus fiber patch cabling. Because the transceiver electronics are integrated in the cable ends, installation is simplified and space at rack fronts is conserved. The optical medium removes susceptibility to EMI and reduces crosstalk compared with copper alternatives, while the fixed-length design eliminates the need for separate patch cords and shortens deployment time.

Suitable for

• Direct server-to-switch connections in data centers
• Inter-rack and intra-rack high-speed links
• Connections between storage arrays and top-of-rack switches
• High-density switch stacking and switch-to-switch links

Key specifications

• Cable type: Active Optical Cable (AOC) with SFP28 connectors
• Length: 30 meters
• Data rate: 25 Gbit/s per lane (SFP28 specification)
• Connector gender: Male-to-male SFP28
• Latency: low, suitable for latency-sensitive applications
• Electromagnetic immunity: inherent, optical transmission
• Compatibility: designed for devices with SFP28 ports (switches, servers, storage)

How to use

Install the cable by inserting each SFP28 connector into the corresponding SFP28 port until it latches. Ensure both endpoints support 25 Gbit/s operation and that the ports are enabled in the device configuration. No separate transceivers or patch fibers are required. For proper operation, verify link status on the connected devices and confirm speed and duplex settings where applicable. When removing the cable, unlatch the connector before pulling to avoid damage to the port or module.

Recommendations

Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and mechanical stress; maintain bend radii recommended by the manufacturer. Use AOC assemblies of appropriate length to minimize excess cabling in racks. For hot-pluggable environments, confirm firmware and hardware compatibility with your switch or server vendor before widespread deployment.
