CBO actieve optische kabel SFP+ AOC-S-S-10G-30M-BO 30 m oranje — SFP+ naar SFP+ 10 Gbit/s

CBO Active Optical Cable SFP+ AOC-S-S-10G-30M-BO is a 30 metre orange SFP+ to SFP+ cable designed for 10 Gbps links between compatible SFP+ ports. This pre-terminated active optical cable integrates transceivers and a fixed multimode optical fiber in a single assembly, offering low-latency, energy-efficient connectivity for switches, servers and storage systems in data centres and enterprise networks. The cable’s fixed design removes the need for field terminations and supports high-density rack installations and server uplinks over longer distances than copper Direct Attach Copper (DAC) cables.

Advantages

The CBO Active Optical Cable provides a compact, lightweight connection that reduces electrical power consumption and heat compared with equivalent copper solutions. Its pre-terminated factory assembly ensures consistent optical performance and eliminates on-site splicing or connector termination. With a brightly coloured sheath for easy identification and a 30 m reach, it enables flexible placement of equipment within racks and across aisles while maintaining 10 Gbps throughput and low latency.

Suitable for

• 10 Gbps links between SFP+ ports on switches and servers
• High-density rack patching in data centre top-of-rack and end-of-row setups
• Server uplinks and storage area network interconnects requiring low latency
• Connections where reduced power consumption and lighter cabling are desired

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP+ to SFP+
• Data rate: 10 Gbps
• Length: 30 metres
• Cable type: active optical cable with integrated transceivers
• Colour: orange
• Typical use: short- to medium-reach links within data centre racks and aisles
• Latency: low, suitable for time-sensitive server and storage traffic

How to use

Install the AOC by inserting each SFP+ connector into the corresponding SFP+ port on your networking devices until the latch clicks. Ensure both ends are fully seated and that ports are compatible with active optical modules. No field termination or additional transceivers are required. After physical installation, verify link status and speed through the device management interface and check for any vendor-specific configuration or compatibility settings required by your hardware.

Recommendations

Handle the cable by the connector housings and avoid tight bends; respect the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius. Route the cable to minimise mechanical stress and prevent crushing or sharp kinks. Verify device compatibility for SFP+ active optical links and confirm firmware or port settings if necessary. Use the coloured sheath for quick identification in high-density environments.
