CBO actieve optische kabel voor Alcatel‑Lucent SFP-AOC-10G-1M 10 Gbit/s, 1 m

The CBO Active Optical Cable for Alcatel‑Lucent SFP-AOC-10G-1M 10 Gbps, 1 m is a factory-terminated optical link designed for short‑reach high‑speed connections between SFP ports. This 1 metre AOC supports 10 Gbps data rates and is suitable for interconnecting switches, servers and storage systems where low latency, immunity to electromagnetic interference and neat cable management are required. The cable is compatible with Alcatel‑Lucent SFP form-factor ports and provides a plug-and-play solution to replace copper twinax at similar reach while reducing weight and heat generation.

Advantages

The AOC delivers 10 Gbps throughput over a single metre of duplex optical fiber, enabling reliable high-bandwidth links with minimal signal loss. As an optical connection, it eliminates susceptibility to electromagnetic interference and ground loop issues common to copper cables. The cable is pre-terminated and factory-tested to ensure connector quality and signal integrity, simplifying installation and maintenance. Its compact, flexible design contributes to improved airflow in racks and easier cable routing in dense environments.

Suitable for

• High-performance top-of-rack and leaf-spine switch interconnects
• Server-to-switch connections in data center racks
• Storage array links requiring 10 Gbps short-reach connectivity
• Environments sensitive to electromagnetic interference

Key specifications

• Data rate: 10 Gbps
• Length: 1 metre
• Interface: SFP form factor compatible with Alcatel‑Lucent SFP ports
• Cable type: Active Optical Cable (duplex optical link)
• Latency: low, suitable for time-sensitive applications
• Installation: hot-pluggable, factory-terminated connectors

How to use

Install the AOC by inserting each SFP connector into the corresponding SFP port on the devices until the connector latches. No external transceivers or additional configuration is required for systems that support SFP AOC modules; the link will typically be recognized automatically by the host devices. Avoid tight bends and ensure minimum bend radius is respected during routing. For safe removal, unlock the SFP latches and withdraw the connectors straight out to prevent damage to the ports or cable ends.

Recommendations

Use the cable for short-reach 10 Gbps links within racks or across adjacent racks. Keep the cable away from sharp edges and sources of excessive heat. Verify device compatibility with SFP AOC modules and check firmware or driver notes if link negotiation issues occur. Store unused AOC assemblies in protective caps and avoid repeated flexing near connector ends to maintain long-term performance.
