CBO AOC D-Link SFP28-AOC-30M 30m 100G actieve optische kabel

The CBO AOC D-Link SFP28-AOC-30M 30m 100G active optical cable is a factory-assembled, duplex active optical link designed for direct 100G connections between SFP28 ports. At 30 meters length, this BlueOptics cable provides a single-cable solution that integrates optical transceivers and fiber, eliminating the need for separate plug-in modules and patch cords. It is intended for high-density environments where reliable, low-latency 100 gigabit links are required between switches, servers or other compatible network equipment.

Advantages

The active optical cable delivers full 100G bandwidth with low insertion loss and minimal electrical-to-optical conversion overhead, simplifying installation and reducing component count in rack deployments. Its fixed-length factory termination ensures consistent optical performance and reduces compatibility issues compared with field-assembled fiber assemblies. The integrated design lowers power consumption compared with some alternatives and supports hot-pluggable SFP28 ports for straightforward replacement and upgrades.

Suitable for

• Data center switch-to-switch connectivity at 100G over a 30 m reach
• Switch-to-server high-bandwidth links where direct SFP28 connections are supported
• Top-of-rack or middle-of-row interconnects requiring low-latency, high-throughput links
• Environments that favor compact cabling and reduced transceiver inventory

Key specifications

• Interface type: SFP28 (hot-pluggable)
• Data rate: 100 Gbit/s
• Cable type: Active optical cable (integrated optical transceivers and fiber)
• Length: 30 meters
• Connector configuration: Duplex SFP28 modules on each end
• Typical use: Short-reach data center interconnects

How to use

Install the cable by inserting each SFP28 connector into a compatible port until it latches; no separate transceivers or patch cords are required. Verify link status on both attached devices and confirm negotiated speed is 100G. For best results, avoid tight bends and maintain recommended bend radius for optical fiber along the run. If a link does not establish, reseat the connectors and check device port configuration and firmware compatibility.

Recommendations

Use the cable in clean, temperature-controlled rack environments and route it to minimize mechanical strain. Confirm that connected equipment supports active optical AOC assemblies and SFP28 modules at 100G before deployment.
