BlueOptics InfiniBand/glasvezelkabel 7 m SFP28 aquakleur

The BlueOptics InfiniBand/fibre optic cable 7 m SFP28 Aqua colour (BlueOptics 98R4K-BO) is a 7-metre active optical cable (AOC) with SFP28 connectors designed for high-speed multi‑mode fibre link applications. It implements a SFP28-to‑SFP28 connection and supports 25GBASE-SR4 transmission rates, with integrated transmitter and receiver modules at each end to handle optical signalling. The cable is built to MSA specifications and is intended for use in networking hardware that supports SFP28 AOCs.

Advantages

The AOC provides electrical isolation and immunity to electromagnetic interference while offering low latency and consistent bandwidth over a 7 m distance. Built with high-quality optical lasers and integrated circuits from established component manufacturers, the cable delivers stable 25 Gbit/s performance for Ethernet, Fibre Channel over Ethernet and related high-speed protocols. Factory testing ensures interoperability with major hardware platforms that accept SFP28 AOCs.

Suitable for

• Short-reach interconnects between switches and routers within server racks or adjacent racks
• Storage area network links and connections to storage arrays supporting 25G
• High-density top-of-rack and leaf-spine network deployments requiring SFP28 AOCs

Key specifications

• Cable type: Active optical cable (AOC) with SFP28 connectors at both ends
• Length: 7 metres
• Supported data rate: up to 25 Gbit/s per link (25GBASE-SR4)
• Fibre type: Multi‑mode fibre with transceivers for short‑reach optical transmission
• Connector colour: Aqua (typical for 25G multimode optics)
• DDM/DOM support: digital diagnostics monitoring for real‑time link parameters (subject to host support)

How to use

Install the cable by inserting each SFP28 connector into the corresponding SFP28 port on the networking devices until the latch engages. Ensure that connected devices are powered off or that hot‑swap insertion is supported by the equipment and follow vendor guidance for transceiver handling. Verify link status through the host device management interface and, where available, monitor diagnostic parameters such as optical power and temperature via DDM/DOM.

Recommendations

Use the cable for short‑reach optical links within racks or between adjacent racks; avoid tight bends and excessive stress on the cable. Confirm that the target hardware supports SFP28 AOCs and DDM/DOM if diagnostic access is required. Store and handle connectors in a clean environment to preserve optical performance.
