InfiniBand actieve optische kabel CBO QSFP-AOC-5M-LC-BO – QSFP naar QSFP, 5 m, LC-stekker

Active Optical Cable CBO QSFP-AOC-5M-LC-BO is a 5 m InfiniBand AOC that connects QSFP ports using LC-style fiber terminations. The cable delivers high-bandwidth, low-latency optical links for short-reach interconnects in data center environments. Compact and lightweight, this QSFP to QSFP AOC reduces electromagnetic interference compared with copper alternatives and simplifies cabling between switches, servers and storage appliances.

Advantages

The active optical construction offers stable signal integrity and lower power dissipation for short-reach connections while maintaining InfiniBand performance characteristics. LC-style terminations provide a standardized optical interface for QSFP transceivers, and the 5 m length balances flexibility and cable management for rack and row deployments. Optical transmission eliminates electrical crosstalk and supports dense port configurations with minimal heat and noise impact.

Suitable for

• Short-reach server-to-switch and switch-to-switch interconnects in data centers
• High-performance computing clusters using InfiniBand QSFP ports
• Storage array connections requiring low-latency optical links
• Environments where reduced electromagnetic interference is required

Key specifications

• Connector type: QSFP to QSFP with LC-style fiber terminations
• Cable type: Active Optical Cable (AOC)
• Length: 5 meters
• Application: InfiniBand short-reach high-speed links
• Performance: Low latency, optical transmission for interference-free connections
• Physical: Lightweight, flexible cable suitable for dense rack cabling

How to use

Install the QSFP AOC by inserting each QSFP connector into the corresponding QSFP port on your switch, server or storage device. Ensure ports are powered and the equipment firmware supports InfiniBand optical links. Route the 5 m cable to avoid sharp bends and mechanical strain; use cable management features in the rack to secure the AOC and maintain airflow. After physical installation, verify link status and performance through your equipment management interfaces.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, avoid tight bending radii and excessive pulling force during installation. Use the 5 m length for intra-rack and adjacent-rack connections; for longer distances consider appropriate optical transceiver and fiber cabling solutions. Verify compatibility with device port specifications and firmware to ensure full InfiniBand functionality.
