InfiniBand Active Optical kabel CBO CBL-10GSFP-AOC-10M-BO 10 m SFP+ oranje

The InfiniBand Active Optical Cable CBO CBL-10GSFP-AOC-10M-BO 10 m SFP+ orange is a factory-terminated active optical link with SFP+ connectors, designed for high-speed server, switch and storage interconnects. At 10 metres length and with an orange jacket, this InfiniBand AOC provides a compact direct-attach solution for short to mid-range links where fiber optics are required. The active optical construction minimizes electromagnetic interference and delivers reliable signal integrity over copper alternatives while maintaining a small form factor compatible with SFP+ ports.

Advantages

This active optical cable offers low latency, consistent high data throughput, and improved noise immunity compared with equivalent copper assemblies. Its factory-terminated SFP+ interfaces simplify installation and reduce field termination errors. The 10 m reach covers typical rack-to-rack or row-level connections without the need for transceivers or additional fiber patching, and the colored orange jacket aids rapid identification and cable management in dense environments.

How to use

Install the cable by inserting each SFP+ connector into the corresponding SFP+ port on the devices to be connected. Ensure ports are powered down or link negotiation settings are appropriate according to equipment guidelines before insertion to avoid hot-plug issues. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius. Verify link status and configuration on connected devices and monitor for expected link speed and signal integrity following installation.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, avoid tight bends and mechanical strain on the cable, keep the AOC away from high-temperature sources, and label both ends for asset management. Use the 10 m length for rack-to-rack or row-level links; for longer runs, choose active optical transceiver plus fiber solutions. Regularly inspect connectors for dust or contamination and clean with appropriate fiber-optic cleaning tools before plugging.
