SFP+ actieve optische kabel CBO SFP-AOC-10G-50M 10G, 50 m

The BlueOptics SFP+ Active Optical Cable CBO SFP-AOC-10G-50M 10G, 50 m is a factory-terminated SFP+ direct-attach AOC designed for short-reach 10 Gigabit Ethernet links. This cable provides a single, integrated SFP+ form-factor connector at each end and uses multimode fiber to deliver 10 Gb/s connectivity over a 50 meter distance. The plug-and-play design fits standard SFP+ ports on switches, servers and storage devices and eliminates the need for separate transceivers and fiber patch cords, reducing cabling complexity in data center and enterprise installations.

Advantages

The AOC offers low latency and low power consumption compared with separate transceiver-plus-patch-cord solutions, and its integrated SFP+ connectors simplify inventory and deployment. Factory-terminated multimode fiber ensures consistent optical performance and eliminates field termination. The cable’s fixed 50 m length helps maintain predictable link budgets and reduces signal loss associated with multiple connector interfaces.

Suitable for

• Interconnects between top-of-rack and aggregation switches within a data center rack row
• Server-to-switch and storage-to-switch connections requiring 10 Gb/s bandwidth
• High-density patching scenarios where minimizing cable bulk and power draw is important

Key specifications

• Interface: SFP+ form-factor connector on both ends
• Data rate: 10 Gigabit Ethernet
• Reach: 50 meters over multimode optical fiber
• Cable type: Active Optical Cable (AOC) with factory-terminated multimode fiber
• Latency and power: low-latency design with lower power consumption than separate transceiver solutions

How to use

Install the BlueOptics SFP-AOC-10G-50M by inserting each SFP+ connector into compatible SFP+ ports on the devices to be linked. Ensure both devices support SFP+ optics and that ports are operational. The cable is plug-and-play and typically does not require driver installation; verify link status in the network equipment management interface and confirm 10 Gb/s negotiation. Avoid bending the cable beyond recommended minimum bend radius and secure the cable to prevent strain on the connectors.

Recommendations

Use this AOC in controlled data center or enterprise environments where the 50 m length matches rack and row layouts. Keep the cable away from sharp edges and hot surfaces, follow equipment manufacturer guidance for SFP+ port handling, and verify compatibility with network hardware for optimal performance.
